Most CU Boulder students, faculty 和 staff members are aware of the university’s alerts website, which outlines the three levels of notifications that can be sent, depending on the nature, location 和 severity of an incident.

The website also outlines how to receive alerts, which can differ depending upon the type of alert that is sent. For a review of all three notification levels 和 how each type of alert is shared, keep reading!

The bottom line: Not all notifications are sent via text message. 然而, the university acknowledges that many members of the campus community say they want more text alerts, 和 for all three levels of notifications.

一个好消息! 在那里 is a way to receive push notifications for all three levels, by following CU Boulder Alerts on Twitter 和 enabling push notifications

You can also follow the University of 科罗拉多州 Police Department (CUPD) on Twitter to receive the latest safety alert information, plus safety tips, resources 和 more.

Here’s a quick review of the notification levels, when the university sends each type of notification, 和 how to receive each type of notification. So you are aware, all alert levels will appear on the alerts website during 和 immediately after incidents, 和 are also archived

CU Emergency Alerts, which are notifications that are sent when there is a confirmed 和 immediate threat to the safety of those on campus, or when there is a change to the university’s operating status, are shared several ways: via email to everyone with a vitrincep.com email address, via text to those who have added their cellphone number to receive text alerts 和 via the CUPD 和 CU Boulder Alerts Twitter accounts. They also appear on the alerts website.

CU 安全 Alerts, which are notifications to the campus community of crimes committed on or near campus, per Clery Act guidelines, are sent to everyone with a vitrincep.com email address, as well as shared on CUPD 和 CU Boulder Alerts Twitter accounts. They also appear on the alerts website.

铜警告, our newest level of notification, are sent for incidents that do not rise to the level of a CU Emergency Alert or a CU 安全 Alert, but are still of interest to the campus community. 铜警告 are sent for incidents both on 和 off campus that could potentially impact campus operations or activities, including police activity near campus, traffic issues or extended power outages. 铜警告 are posted via social media on the CUPD 和 CU Boulder Alerts Twitter accounts. They are also posted on the alerts website.

Since all notifications, regardless of level, are shared via the CU Boulder Alerts Twitter account, following 和 enabling push notifications means you will be able to receive alert messages that pop up on your mobile device, similar to ones you may receive for news, 体育成绩, weather reports 和 more.

All current CU Boulder students 和 employees with Boulder, 科罗拉多州, residential addresses have also been opted-into Everbridge, the county-wide emergency alert system deployed by local public safety entities.
