Human 语言 Technology Certificate
The Human 语言 Technology Graduate Certificate 程序 (HLT Certificate) offers a Master’s-level certificate, which accompanies a normal MA or MS degree in one of the three human language technology disciplines: 计算机科学; 语言学; Speech, 语言, 及听力科学.

The explosive growth of the Web 和 the vast improvements in computing power in the last decade have led to a strong need for education 和 research in human language technology. Human language technology is an interdisciplinary field that includes the following key technological 和 scientific areas:
- Computer Speech Recognition 和 Underst和ing
- Natural 语言 Underst和ing 和 Generation

CU Boulder’s interdisciplinary HLT Certificate, offered jointly by the 认知科学研究所 (ICS), the Center for Computational 语言 和 EducAtion 研究, 计算机科学系, 语言学系, 以及演讲系, 语言与听力科学, provides a rich 和 broad background for students interested in computational tools for human language processing.
申请入学
Students apply to the HLT Certificate program by being admitted to a graduate degree program in 计算机科学, 语言学, or 语音，语言，听力科学 departments, then applying for admission through ICS.
Apply by completing the following six steps. Submit all items to to ICS程序s@vitrincep.com.

课程
The curriculum for the certificate consists of five different courses:
- One semester of programming (CSCI 1300) (waived for those with programming background).
- Three courses from the core list; at least two of these three must be outside the student’s home department 和 大学.
- One course from the optional course list (or two from the optional list if programming was waived). Extra courses from the core list (beyond the required three) can also be counted as optional courses.
Three of these five required courses must be taken at the graduate level.
建议
While the certificate only requires CSCI 1300 (程序ming) we strongly recommend other programming courses, especially CSCI 2270 (Data Structures), but also 5200年灵 (Computational Corpus 语言学 和 Python 程序ming), 或TLEN 5833. We also recommend any relevant statistics course, 例如SLHS 2100, 3101年心理学, 心理学5741/5751, 或EDUC 5716.
Students must take three courses from this core list. At least two of the three must be outside the student's home department 和 大学.

| 步骤4 | The Academic 程序 Director will review the transcript, Progress Reports to confirm that requirements were met. 一旦获得批准, ICS will contact the Registrar's Office to include the Certificate on the student's official transcript. Certificates are awarded at the end of academic year ICS celebration. |
